TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Lancaster. We're sharing a story about some of Lancaster's best boxers today. Now those are fighting words. 😎
In today's Lancaster Ledger:
• Wingstop just opened a third Lancaster County location in Ephrata
• Three Lancaster boxers are at National Golden Gloves in Tulsa
• Bramble & Berry opened on West Chestnut — and I went Sunday
Let's do it.

SPONSORED BY HINKLE INSURANCE AGENCY

Your Neighbor in the Insurance Business Since 1976
Finding the right insurance shouldn't feel like a headache. Hinkle Insurance Agency has been helping Lancaster County families and businesses navigate coverage for nearly 50 years — and they've handled my business insurance needs since I launched my first company in 2020.
As an independent agency, Hinkle isn't tied to one insurance company. Karyn, Luke, and the team shop across multiple carriers to find you the best combination of price, coverage, and service. Home, auto, business, life — they handle it all and actually pick up the phone when you call.
Three generations of the Hinkle family have built this agency on one idea: treat every client like a neighbor, not a policy number. That's why families who started with them in the '70s and '80s are still there today — and bringing their kids and grandkids along.
Whether you're buying your first home, bundling your auto policies, or need commercial coverage for your business, Hinkle's team will walk you through every option so you actually understand what you're paying for.
Stop by the office at 705 Olde Hickory Road, Suite 200, Lancaster or give them a call at (717) 560-9733. You can also visit hinkleinsurance.com to learn more.
THE DIGEST
Wingstop just opened its third Lancaster County location in Ephrata 🍗
Wingstop opened in Ephrata Monday, May 11 — its third Lancaster County location in two years. The new restaurant takes a 3,000-square-foot space in the Cloister Shopping Center at 108 N. Reading Road, near WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. The franchise is operated by Talon Restaurants, the Allentown-based group that already runs the Manheim and East Hempfield Wingstops. The Ephrata spot replaces Blair's Closet, the discount store that moved up to 338 N. Reading Road last fall. Hours are 10:30 AM – midnight Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 AM – 1 AM Friday and Saturday.
Translation: the third shift just got a hot new option.

Three Lancaster boxers are at the National Golden Gloves in Tulsa this week 🥊
Three Lancaster fighters — Jaysonet Caleb "Boogie Man" Martinez (37-12), Jasiah "Monster" Ortiz (64-20), and Jerimiah "Drip" Munoz (50-22) — packed into a van and drove 22 hours to Tulsa for the 2026 National Golden Gloves tournament. The drive happened with strict weight management: 7 AM weigh-ins, no allowances. The crew survived on fruit, nuts, and protein bars on the way out, and by Sunday morning all of them were within a pound and a half of weight. Tournament official Jackie Greenlee — who won the Army National Golden Gloves in 1982 and '83 — rode along and shared stories about sparring with Mike Tyson.
The tournament runs May 11-16 and is livestreamed online.

Bramble & Berry opened on West Chestnut — and I went Sunday 🍦
Bramble & Berry, Lancaster's first New Zealand-style real fruit ice cream shop, opened at 559 W. Chestnut Street earlier this month — and they sold out earlier this week. Owners Jennifer Archer and Robert Shaub use a specialized auger machine that blends fresh whole fruit (sourced locally from Brecknock Orchard) directly into a soft-serve base. Dairy, plant-based, and gluten-free swirls all available. Hours are Tue-Thu 12-8 PM, Fri-Sat 12-9 PM, Sun 11-8 PM. Closed Mondays.
We went Sunday for Mother's Day. So, so good. Get the extra fruit. it's worth it.
Mango is currently on top of my leaderboard.
(Not a paid sponsor. Just genuinely good.)
